I have tried to retire. I have tried to sell. I have tried to delegate. Nope. The Universe apparently has other plans for me I am simply not seeing.
I spent the afternoon on Saturday puttering around in the loft. Deep cleaning. Making long overdue repairs. Cleaning the draft lines, etc. I had a great time! It occurred to me that I have come full circle with the business. After 27 years I am stepping back into the role of brew mistress, which I begrudgingly gave up when Dr. Bob was dying and I needed to take care of him. I am proud to say yet another brewer I have trained has moved on to grow his career. The best part is I get to go back to doing what I love to do at the brewery. Yep, I will once again be brewing the beer for PVB. Wahoo!!!
Over the next month or so I am going to rip apart the entire brewing operation. Deep clean. Make some long overdue repairs. Plot my next production schedule. What kind of beers would you like on tap? During this transition I am going to jump outside the keg and put some wild and wacky beers on tap and maybe even some guest beers until I can get production dialed in again. I am super excited to get to play with my toys again.
Stay tuned for the next installment of Penny's brewery adventures!
Cheers to more years of great beers!
